Hi Andreas, From memory, I think the back panel of the Beocenter is marked "Speakers - 4 to 16 Ohms" by the DIN speaker sockets, so yes this should be fine. I must say that I have used a huge variety of speakers with my various Beocenters over the years, without ever having a problem and I have always been very impressed with the flexibility

I love this sort of topic - sound quality is partly about perception, hence all the different views.... Basically, I would suggest that you try to arrange a loan of both a Beolab 2 and a non-B&O sub (eg. Miller and Kreisel, B&W, etc.) Compare the sound of each set up with both music and movies. Also try different settings on the positioning

Hi PerroMal, Welcome to the forum! The one piece of advice I have is please, please, please don't try to connect your Beolab 6000 speakers to an amplifier with speaker level outputs! Here's why:- 1) You will not get rid of the buzzing 2) The speakers will not work properly 3) The sound quality will be very poor 4) You will very likely damage

Thanks Peter, I hadn't realised that! Do you know whether the SP1/2 is incompatible with the newer arms, or whether the change in tracking angle is enough to be an issue? Also, if anyone can clarify which styli fit which decks, that would be helpful - would it be useful to add all the info to this post, so that it can stay as a reference point for

Hmm, I see the seller is in Nottingham, just a few miles from me - I might get in touch with him and ask if I can view them "prior to bidding" to see if I can shed any more light on this. I will let you know the outcome Steve.

Hi Rob, Welcome to the forum! I went to visit a friend last week who has been in the hi-fi (but not B&O) trade for 30 years and he found me a box of unused SP1/2 needles that would fit your Beogram 1202. These date back to the early 1970's and have been sat in his shop ever since. They all look to be in perfect condition, so please email me

Hi Kevin, Yes, just change the backup battery and reset the unit, as described in the Beoworld article you mentioned. That should clear the problem. If not, just post back and I will try to help. The 2 pin DIN speaker cables are still freely available in a variety of lengths. B&O also sell the 4 pin Speakerlink cables for speakers with displays
-
Hi scottyltd, Yes, there are 2 main options:- 1) If you want to use the B&O remote to control the volume, use a Powerlink to RCA cable plugged into one of the 2 Powerlink outputs on the 9000 to go to a line input on the Sony system. Set the Sony volume control to maximum and use the B&O remote as normal. Just be careful if you also use other

Hi Mika, There should be a 7 digit part code stamped on the back of the bass driver, which will allow your local B&O dealer to re-order the part for you. Alternatively, you could check the Service Manual on BeoWorld, which should have a full parts list. Let me know if you can't find it and I will try to locate this for you. Best regards, Steve

Hmm, Just a thought, but the screeching sound may be a separate problem. As you may know, the 9000 CD transport needs to be aligned using the two fittings underneath with the red key supplied when you bought the system. The usual symptoms of a mis-aligned transport mechanism are screeching and/or disc spinning problems (although usually going slow rather
