Well, i would be very suspicious about the tube....did the seller only say it had a new tube or did he prove it ? The changing colours with a T8111 usually only leads to the same old song.... Also the switching off with a 'bang' is part of that. If you can't return it to the seller, you could open the tv and check the tube label; either

From the pile of MX/LX sets i've repaired i learned that with 9,5 out of 10 of these tv sets the solderings at the back of the s-vhs connection are loose, i'm sure this is the same with your's (so a bit of minor surgery would be needed). You could try to slightly pull/turn the jack a bit in the connection while looking at the screen and

.....And the installation of the PIP module depends of the type of Avant, but you could do it i think, i did one on the T8111 which is installing the board (yes: with the torx screw, and you'll needs torx (15 i think) to open the Avant). Plug one connector in and cut 4 jumpers on the board behind it, for the later Avants it might be different again

Hello Repsej/Jesper, looking on the web for a new/replacement tube for the one you mentioned W66ESF002x13 i came to this thread (although i'm a BW member but nevert read the Scandinavian section. Reading it, i think i understand more or less what it's about but replying in Danish i won't try :)...(i'm Dutch). Anyway, this tube (W66ESF002x13

Hi ***, i'm back in NL now so if needed i could help here and there (as i replied to you in the PM). For the time being, if you don't want to do 'harm' to the originality of the radio you could just buy a standard power adapter of say 1A (set to 9V) and connect it with clips to the battery contacts. Is the double telescopic FM antenna

Lausvi, i think the caps with the cracks on the top are of the older (pre-LX5500) type, the ones i refer to are the ones with the 'shiny' top, the trouble with those is that sometimes these start leaking, if so usually you can see the spots on the board and even smells. Usually, i start with pulling the chassis out, switch the tv on and with

Yes: imho this is the board to start with (a known trouble maker) and just re-solder the solderings, especially if you look on the soldering side upper left, there's an IC and the smd things above that is usually causing trouble. The board 'stands' on the motherboard in 2 small plastic clamps. imho recapping is a bit of a waiste of time

Hi, has anyone any idea what the difference is between the original deflection board for the T8111 and the board which is placed (labelled S-flat) when the tube is replaced (for an S-flat type) ? I have both versions but i only see some difference in values of some capacitors, is this all ? If anyone has the diagram of this S-flat deflection board that
