ah I thought as much, has anyone been able to do this without taking the basestation to the dealer, I mean is the "Service Tool" nothing more than a serial cable attached to the computer and the firmware being upgraded ??? Can't be that difficult I would have thought, does someone have the firmware that I can d/load from a website.

Does anybody know if the 2.5 upgrade to the 6000 Basestation is a software ( firmware ) upgrade, or are some replacement parts involved ? I want to upgrade my basestation at the same time as upgrading the two MK I handsets. I have a Siemens ( BT badged Diverse 4010 ) GAP compatible phone that I have charged up and thought it might be possible to connect to the Beoline PSTN base, if the Beoline is a true GAP standard DECT basestation, then it should allow non B&O handsets to register with the Beoline.
