I have not heard them but the amps used in the 4000 seem to be similar to those in the Beolab 4, which are not B&Os best. The ones in the 6002 and 8002 are different. The Beolab 4 amplifiers have technical compromises to enable them to be particularly small.

Very debatable and ultimately completely up to you. Technically the frequency responses quoted are the same but the Sound Pressure is higher for the 4000s. This would suggest a slightly better bass response for the 4000s, which I would contend is borne out by listening. I prefer 4000s to 6000s - you will find others who prefer 6000s. The 6000s are slightly

I had never noticed that on mine!

You certainly can - there are three leaf springs which are just metals leaves - they are adjustable and easily reached - the service manual is on site and is a good one. However if you take off the top plate, all will become obvious. The top plate is released by pulling the wood surround forward. You can then remove all the aluminium plates. Be careful

Why not see if you cannot source a used one? I would ask Lee , for instance, if he could find you one. Probably save you enough for some speakers. Personally, I would go for an HD BV5.

I imagine that they can - I think you need to talk to Steve at Sounds Heavenly - I think this is the product you require.

About right I would say - especially as not tested - the S45s look a little tired in the tweeter department. Purely as an aside, I looked at the top plate of the BG3000 and noticed the small black plug just before the name. I have checked a picture of mine, long since given away, and it had the same. The only other deck with this that I remember was

The speakers in the BV10-32 are not the same as the BV10-40 - you lose the centre woofer and sound box. I am afraid I am still not impressed with the sound quality of the BV10 - yes it is better than a Samsung etc, but it does not begin to compare with a BV5. Sounds like Bose with no presence, just lots of top end giving a 'detailed ' sound
If you upgrade your membership to Beoworld you can gain access to the service manuals.
I have not scanned that one (very large!!) Was looking for the manual when our colleague kindly gave the answer! Can't get my V8000 to work well as it is attached to the 3rd input on my BV5 and has to be called V.Aux
