hi there, i assume this an 8490 32"? i just (last week) bought a low mileage example w/ a pair of matching bl6000 for us$765. the problem you will likely have is selling it locally or finding someone willing to pick it up. i don't have to tell you how heavy they are! btw, where are you located? -i may be looking for another one!

guess: i do not have a 5500, but at least on the cd50 -the disc goes in "upside-down..." seems wrong, and it drove me crazy at first. not very intuitive if the 5500 does the same... anyone know?

i have had this same problem on a few poorly packed pieces where the packing tape had been laid across the coating. upon unpacking the tape removed the coating. bummer, but it revealed the flawless surface beneath and looked great! so, i simply grabbed my roll of clear packing tape and went to town. it took about 10 seconds to pull up the rest of the
