benjnz: I guess it does what it's supposed to do, i.e., just sit in a link room, be it wall mounted or not and that's about it. I think they have missed the point of a link room or any TV needing more than just one add on link, but hopefully, they'll get over that, they'll have too!!! I'm a bit confused about it's real purpose

Connect it via a Scart and set it as V.Aux or V.Mem

Some people on the old forum were ranting about the lack of a Dolby Digital decoder, but in all fairness, that is something you'd have in the lounge, with a fully-blown surround sound setup. Maybe even the occlusion of a MasterLink module, but what B&O must understand is that people want to watch things on their TV, and if they can't connect

Yes, it does a fantastic job of upscaling. From a distance of 4-5m on a 65" display, I struggle to tell the difference between standard definition and high definition other than a slight increase in depth. So yes, it definitely DOES upscale, and does a much better job of it than my Philips upscaling DVD player!

I think you might be in luck! I'm pretty sure they have a 3 drawer cabinet available (although I might be wrong). I'd give them a ring on monday 01225 445211 Have a good weekend too btw!

If your friend's motor base has the part no. 1417911, then it will NOT function as a base to go underneath the cabinet and you may want to contact a dealer. If it has part no. 1406666, then it will function as both, either to go underneath the TV, or double up and go underneath the cabinet. You don't say where you are based, but I just asked

Peter: Sounds very promising but va lack of a built in digital tuner and hence EPG would probably put me off. And the fact that Sky+ is just so easy! What about the BeoSystem 3's tuner? Are we sure that this cannot tune into two stations at once? If it could, then this in fact makes things easier than having one built into the DVD2 as it means you'll

Craig: Just like a US spec Avant then. Rember there been a picture on the old Forum of one. Just rows of RCA connections. Craig Although the US Avant also had a completely different picture brain driving it, it was internally almost a completely different design alltogether.

Calvin: But then it begs the question of why would a dealer want to get rid of them? Unless there's something uber-secret in the pipeline... They don't want to lose too much value from what they originally paid. As time passes, gear loses it's value more and more rapidly and if they keep a pair of BL5s for too long, their value will be so

It's a shame that CoverFlow isn't intergrated into FrontRow, they really missed something there, as it's almost there. Apple introduced full screen CoverFlow with the latest major iTunes update, and they could have added it into FrontRow with remote control capabilities pretty easily...
