To convert to being a true addict, you need the Beolab/Beomaster 5000 system. Works well with the Beogram 4000! No reason you cannot use the CDX or even an MP3 player (iPod on lossless preferably!) - I am going to Denmark in the spring to pick mine up! The 9500 is a splendid machine - good tape player and excellent CD. The weak point is the power amplifier

The common problem with this model is the capacitors and variable resistors, particularly in the power supply. Does the test for the microcomputer work? (Press Monitor and stand by when the set is in stand by) If you get the display TP, the computer is at least working. However I think this needs a service - surprised it has not had one before - mine

Should be fine. There is an interesting note in the user manual telling you that the tone control will need altering as the amplifier is adjuisted for the built in speakers!! Clearly not a flat frequency response!

Tape and CD use pin 7, Phono uses pin 6 except when the record player has a built in RIAA when it too uses pin 7. However TV/AUX uses pin 6 as well just to complicate things. I take it that you plugged it into the Aux socket. I would do as Chris suggests and look at the DIN plug and socket first. Commonest (and cheapest) fault would be a loose wire

By not work, I take it you mean everything functions but you get no sound? If you use the record player and try to record, is there output to the tape player? That would narrow down the problem. I suggest however that it sounds like a component failure as opposed to an easy fix. How good are you with a soldering iron?! Mine did something similar a while

I am afraid I cannot tell you! Personally, I don't feel capable of opening TVs - too much voltage for me! Maybe a more expert person can comment.

We have that one - without Beocollectors written all over it! - but it does not have a full schematic. I do have an early one with schematics but It is an earlier type. 810X
