• Re: Cartridges.

The rebuild is very good by http://www.schallplattennadeln.de/ . Axel does this very quickly and for as little as €89. I had a MMC2 with a snapped cantilever repaired and am most impressed. New cantilever, suspension and contact line diamond. He achieves this by sawing off the front of the cartridge in the case of the MMC1-5! I attach a picture

  • Re: Beomaster 4400 power on "kick"

The user and service manual are both on site as well as an interesting article about the design principles behind this unit. The 4400 is easy to open up - the trickier part is getting to the switches because of the sloping front - it is just a case of perseverance though - I have actually reduced one of these to the constituent parts and it has been

Ignace is correct. The Avant is able to send RF without an amplifier - the newer sets need one - it is designed to give a stronger signal than that put out by the Avant which could give problems at times (mine is prone to interference from strong external signals). You should have been advised by your dealer that you would need one.

  • Re: Beogram 5500 to beomaster 3300 earth lead question.

Connect it to the casing of the DIN plug where it goes into the Beomaster. Seven pins allows remote control but you will have to rewire the lead from the Beogram.

It sounds to me if you have the wrong option set - I wonder if you have it set to option 4 rather than option 6. Try setting it again - TV to standby and then LIST and stand by at the same time. Scroll to Option? then to V.Opt and then press 6.
This is going to be good news for many Beogram owners! I presume you are back from Fredes, Peter. Have you got your 5000 back? I gather you will do a thread about this, and your trip?? Andy T.
No - just back from Cairo!

  • Re: Manual and Membership

I do not think that the manuals on site will be enough for you. I do have a hard copy of the manual for the 32" Avant Type 8400 - 8408 which has the PCB diagrams in it. I cannot say if the power supply is the same as yours but I would not be surprised if they were not very similar. I could send this to you but will obviously want it back! I could

  • Re: Updating headphones - Senn HD212 Pro

I have all the B&O headphones - Form 1s are the best sounding IMHO - and also the Sennheiser HD600 and Grado RS1s. I now no longer use any B&O headphones except A8s ( I have a few pairs for mobile use) and use my RS1s downstairs - very open and detailed sound and comfortable for longterm use, and the HD600s in bed - (you can lie against a pillow

  • Re: MMC repair through http://www.schallplattennadeln.de

Just got my cartridges back. MMC2 which had a snapped cantilever - completely replaced - as stated above, Axel obviously cuts the end off the front of the cartridge to access the suspension. I will be doing pictures soon! Very nicely done. MMC5000 - this has a new aluminium cantilever and Shibata stylus fitted - sounds as good as my SMMC20EN but I will

  • Re: Faulty BM6000 pdf

The problem is actually with the internet connection of the user - if you have a rubbish speed (like mine!) the file downloads only partially and seems to be corrupt. I replaced all sorts of files before I worked out (OK, Keith worked out !) what was going on. Not an easy answer but as you are in Northumberland, you could always borrow the originals
