• Re: Investor news

The stock price has risen nicely for the last few weeks. If we take the share price of roughly 80 DKK before the offering in April/May and take the offered 2:1 new shares at 19 DKK each, you would've paid 80 + 2*19 DKK = 118 DKK for three current shares, now worth 3*52 = 156 DKK. That's a rise of +32%. On the other hand, at about the same time

  • CX wall mounts

I see these wall mounts on sale all the time. I'm not looking for such at least for now, but was just curious how are they supposed to be installed. From the number of screws, it seems the small hooks are mounted on the wall, and then what?

  • Re: Second Hand Market for MP3s
I seem to recall a debate about blank audio tape cassettes needing to carry a special tax or fee (to be spread amongst music publishers) because they allowed the free copying of original material. After 30 years the tax didn't materialise and everyone moved on to other techniques and media.
We have had

  • Re: Beomaster 2400 volume playing an lp on a Beogram 4004

I don't think the RIAA preamp was an option on the 2400, already in the predecessor 1900 it was always there, integrated with the rest of the preamplifier on the same PCB. So it can't be missing - either it has been disabled (perhaps some previous owner had a turntable with internal RIAA, as mentioned before), or it is broken. One more test

  • Re: beotime - on time ?
Also I noticed the explicit mentioning of not using chargable batteries ? Does anyone have a clue why ? might there be hazard if you do use chargeable batteries anyway ?
The reasons manufacturers don't recommend rechargeable batteries are typically one or more of the following: they have smaller cell voltage

  • Re: Second Hand Market for MP3s

IMHO the biggest problem with second-hand digital music is immateriality - how do you know you are getting something "genuine", and that the seller doesn't keep it as well and sell it again and again? In short, why pay a crook for something you could just as well steal yourself? I guess DRM is supposed to address this (or more like force

  • Re: Tweeter Driver for RL 60,2 8480200

Try to swap the crossovers between the speakers, it's quick as everything has push-on connectors. If this confirms the crossover to be faulty and the resistors are fine (check the coils as well, and solder joints) there's not much else to go wrong than the caps...

  • Re: Restoring rosewood

I don't think I have a single piece of kit with (real) rosewood finish, but on teak, I have had great results with sanding it first down with fine wet sanding paper (without water, obviously) and then applying teak oil. It will look very dull after the sanding, but the oil brings it back to life! You can try fine wire wool as well, but in that case

  • Re: BeoLab 5000 Panel speaker
So all I will ultimately be doing is adding a wall plug?
Yes, I guess Bieele is right and they have been just cut off. Did you get the speakers as a working pair? Over here cutting the power cords is a common (and annoying) practice of marking electrical items in unknown condition... You can just splice a new

  • Re: Tweeter Driver for RL 60,2 8480200

At least in my pair of RL60.2s, the tweeter part of the crossover was different from the service manual. You can see both versions side by side here . Bass and mid sections were identical. Once you find the problem, consider replacing the old caps with new ones! The difference before and after was really worth it in my pair.
