I don't think the RIAA preamp was an option on the 2400, already in the predecessor 1900 it was always there, integrated with the rest of the preamplifier on the same PCB. Try to swap the crossovers between the speakers, it's quick as everything has push-on connectors. If this confirms the crossover to be faulty and the resistors are fine (check the coils as well, and solder joints) there's not much else to go wrong than the caps...

At least in my pair of RL60.2s, the tweeter part of the crossover was different from the service manual. You can see both versions side by side here . Bass and mid sections were identical. Once you find the problem, consider replacing the old caps with new ones! The difference before and after was really worth it in my pair.
