I don't agree. The idle current trimmers are what fails. They lose connection, making the amplifier idle current way too high, almost Class A. The transformer is not dimensioned for Class A, it will introduce hum and it will become hot and that in turn affects the capacitors that sits right next to it. The photo of the meltdown is a typical example

Well Jeff, that wasn't stupid at all. Yes, they are reset buttons. Actually, I think it makes a few others feel a bit stupid for not thinking about that - myself included... How do you like them then ? Martin

Looking fine, original and untouched so far. Let's eliminate an eventual problem by shortening out the safety relay; Short the two purple wires that goes to the relay mounted on the front and try playing the speakers again. Martin

Glue around the ridge where the magnet (darker part) meets the base of the metal basket. That'll be just above the yellow line in your photo. I like to sit the woofer on its magnet (cone upwards) and then place the glue on the edge of the magnet that sticks out nicely. Martin

Min kommentar

Hi and welcome to Beoworld ! It will be the motor in need of stripping down, cleaning and lubricating, it's a very common fault in all the 1-phase AC motor driven models. Martin

It will bang the lens assembly around repeatedly. It may clean the lens but I'd say there's a huge risk of damage to the lens suspension. I wouldn't recommend using any of these cleaning CD's. Martin

Hi Milan, Welcome back to Beoworld ! There will always be a little burst of noise (audible as a click or thumbfrom the speakers) when the Beomaster 1900/2400 goes out of standby. That will be the amplifiers balancing in the output stage and the muting circuit sits before the amps. Check that the 15V from the electronic switch is correct and clean. Replace
