  • Re: Beovision Avant > Beomaster 5500 + 2x RL6000

I think I would use Masterlink from the Avant to the other rooms and a Beolink converter 1611 to connect the Avant to the 5500. Normally you would have the Avant in Option 2 and the Beomaster in 0, but in this case I wonder if Option 1 would be better, particularly if you have some speakers attached to the 5500. This way, the MCP5500 will still work

  • Re: Beogram 4004 - Newbie!

Certainly worth trying what you have - there is also a way to get them repaired in Germany - see the threads in this section. I have just had three repaired myself.

So you get some idea, the marking would be as shown below.

  • New Cartridge Name!

Having just had a MMC20S retipped with a tapered aluminium cantilever and Shibata stylus, what should I call it?! It is essentially a MMC5000 so I have at present labelled it as such. It is designed to fit on my Beogram 4001 so is black but clearly MMC20S does not strike the correct level of performance. I have some thoughts but have decided to make

  • Re: Beo Master 7000

I would not worry about the capacitors - the difference is relatively minor - your problem sounds more serious. If the problem is when you play the Beogram, and the sound is faint and tinny, it is because the Beogram 5500 needs an RIAA which the BM5500 has but the 7000 does not. If it is all sources, you have a problem !

What source are you using? Is it the same with headphones? What speakers are you using? The service manual is on site - but is the 6500 one which is the same except for the RDS board. - you can find it here .

  • Re: Cartridges.

They look identical - I attach a photo of the two together! One is very slightly out of focus but you get the idea! I am gettingt a well respected B&O expert with better ears than me to do a comparison of the Sound Smith and newly repaired MMC5000 against an original B&O cartridge and will post the review. First impressions are most favourable

  • Re: Beomaster 4400 power on "kick"

The little wheels are the preset tuning wheels that are selected by the P1 to P6 switches. To tune, switch off the AFC and turn the appropriate wheel. You should have a choice of aerial sockets - 75 Ohm for a co-axial cable and a 300 Ohm plug which is used for a t aerial with a two pin plug. The attachment is for the 'rabbit's ear' indoor
