Hi t, Any version of Powerlink cable will work with Beolab 6000 (it is basically the model of speaker which dictates the version you need). I have written a guide to the various types of Powerlink here . If you are considering installation of the cables in the walls, floor or ceiling of your home, I would always recommend mark 2 "fully wired"

Hi metalas, If you do decide to keep the Beomaster 4500 to use with the Beogram 3000, please bear in mind that you will need a pre-amplifier, as the Beogram 3000 does not have one built in. This is not difficult or expensive to sort out and would give you an excellent system that would work with your existing speakers and also be "future-proof"

Thanks Keith, That's very helpful! Best regards, Steve.

Keith, Sorry to break the flow of the thread, but I had an enquiry recently from a friend who belived that he was having similar IR reception problems, but that they were caused by an LCD television, not a plasma. I told him that I thought this was unlikely and sent him away to check the batteries in his remote control, etc, etc. Having just read this

Yes, using the S/PDIF output from a high-end CD transport directly to the Beolab 5 will give you the best possible sound, as the signal will be in the digital domain all the way through the system, with no digital to analogue conversion to add errors to your music. I would agree with previous comments that Beosound 9000 is actually good value for money

Hi, welcome to the forum! In my opinion, Beovox 5700 are lovely speakers, giving a nice full sound and not too large for most rooms. Probably not worth a lot nowadays, so I would suggest that you keep them and enjoy the music! Best regards, Steve.

I also have the problem of my wife's variable level of acceptance of my hi-fi equipment! I've generally opted for the counter-psychology and stealth approach:- 1) Suggest that we need to go shopping for new furniture (and win many "brownie points") 2) Confirm that my audio system "doesn't look right" with the new furniture

Hi Laurence, I agree with Puncher - this device is probably worth a try. If these prove to be popular, I may start making them myself! I get more enquiries from people wanting to add a turntable to a new system without a built-in RIAA amp, rather than wanting to add a line input via a phono connection, but I'm always interested to find out what
-
Yes, you can make an iPod work through the Phono input via the RIAA amplifier/equalisation, but it won't sound good. Why not? Because the RIAA section alters the balance to suit records, which will mess up the sound of the iPod. Basically, you can connect this way (turn the volume down low on the iPod) to "get you by" for a while, but

Interesting thought Peter..... Let me know if you want some help turning your good ideas into a finished product! Best regards, Steve.
