The simplest solution here is to hook things up the 'B&O way'. AppleTV to BS-3/BV-7 via HDMI, BS/BV to BL-5's via PowerLink. Keep in mind that the ATV's design brief is really to deliver iTMS products to the living room, which means (at best right now) 256kbps music, and 720p video. Yes, I know about lossless...I'm talking about

Try disconnecting the main unit from the socket box, and the socket box from mains power for a few minutes, then plug it all back up, an see how it does. Did you replace the normal umbilical cable with the programming umbilical while you flashed it?

At the moment, it is generally the case that nothing but Apple-branded products can play iTunes DRM-protected files. A partial work-around is to use the "iTunes +" feature to update as much of your library as possible to the higher resolution, non-DRM files.

I don't think this is an issue with the BV-4 or the BeoSystem 3 (I assume.) More likely the DVD player has been set up wrong. Make certain that it knows that it is attached to a 16:9 display, and that you want black bars displayed. The DVD player's manual ought to explain how to do so.

Yes, RCA to 5-pin DIN will do the trick. In the US the part # is 6270302 and goes for roughly $50. I understand that these adaptors seem to grow on trees in the EU though. After that using the A. Tape or A.Aux button will flip the BS-3000 over to that input.

I have an entire playlist in iTunes labelled "Guilty" George Michael's 'Freedom' seems tame in this group, so I'll confess to absolutely loving Dolly Parton's version of 'Stairway to Heaven'.

wonderfulelectric: Pardon me. From what I recall, those systems had at least built-in hard drives and cd loaders. Anyways what I don't like about the Beosound 5 is the fact that it is not a network media controller. It is kinda outdated from its inception. Tragic. WE, I think some of the exasperation caused in these discussions is that some of the

avus17: I think if BS5 could stream viedos (avi format for ecample) to the TV this would be very good. Load movies in avi format (dvd rips or so), put them from computer to BM5 and then watch them on BV, that would be something 4 me. Precisely to my point Avus.... Everything indicates that the BeoMaster 5 may well be able to do exactly that...but the

Propaganda, I think you open the real can of worms here with that last question.... The debates which rage in the BS-5, and BV-7/8 threads have demonstrated to me that any one person's ideal solution will prove ridiculously inadequate, or woefully overburdened to another. I have a few ideas, and have yet to see a BeoSound 5 in person...but it seems

TripEnglish: I don't know, SP. I'm still a little worried about jitter. No need to feel 'jittery' Trip!
