  • Re: mx4000 Turning off

Hi Peter, don't bother making things more complicated than they are: the HT transistor is easy to locate, mounted on the metal piece next to the HT transformer there are 3 transistor looking components: 2 of them only have 2 legs (they are diodes) and the biggest one is the HT transistor. Unplug the tv set and measure (with Ohm meter) the resistance

  • Re: Beovox P30's

Just out of curiousity: you state the woofers are Philips and tweeters Seas, you're sure about this ? Because i had 2 pairs of P45's and all units were Seas, and from the same era S45.2's have Seas woofers and Philips tweeters.... And they do sounds different !!, so it's not like 'well, whatever we have in stock', but it's

  • Re: My Avant is dying - what is next?

People, correct me if i'm wrong but i think some people mix up the tube issues with the Avants: as far as i know there's quite a risk with the tube going bad only with the older 50Hz type and the early 100 Hz type (the 'round' tubes), not at all with the RF versions !! And even from these older versions, the bad tubes mostly seem to

  • Re: MX 1500 tuner

  • Re: mx4000 Turning off

@Holly: i usually start with checking the 6,8 nF cap across the HT transistor, sooner or later the soldering of these go bad ending with a short circuited HT transistor. But in your case it could be any bad soldering, check with a magnifying glass around the power supply transformer. @Peter: i'm almost sure if you measure the 8v standby power (which

  • Re: welke drivers in beovox rl 60

  • Re: welke drivers in beovox rl 60

  • Re: welke drivers in beovox rl 60

  • Re: Opening up a Beomaster 8000 (with pictures too!) (now Beogram 8000)

Rick, given your last name i draw the conclusion you could be Dutch ?? The thing is, here in NL i bought a can with silicone (oil) spray to be found in the bike section of the Hema (department store). They also have a similar thing for bike-chains, i figure this is not too different from the other one. After cleaning the mechanics to be lubricated i

  • Re: Beovision Avant 28" can not be turned on from stand-by mode

Yeah, this seems a 2004 tube. What i don't understand is as far as i know B&O used to replace these (T8111) tubes ESF type for ERF types (so one would assume the ESF type would no longer be available), so i'm gonna dig into this further.... Anyway, about your Avant, the next step could be checking the solderings on the pcb at the back of
