  • Re: CDX / Speakers & best B&O CD player for Beomaster 8000

I love my CDX. It is a beautiful piece and the first to have the sensi-touch controls. About the only thing that I don't like about it is is the door mechanism. I find it a bit primative (noisy and motion not very smooth); clearly B&O hadn't quite perfected the smoother mechanisms of later units. Otherwise it is an exceptionally well built

  • Re: Beogram 4000 Shutter Adj

Peter: Do a general search for beogram 4000, 4002 or look back at the previous posts. There has been some interesting and I think helpful dialogue that may be relevant to your goal. Derek

  • Re: Best B&O cassette deck?

Peter: This brings one additional point. Where do you even get quality tapes these days? Are they even being manufactured? In the professional world, I think there is only one company left, based in Holland that still manufactures magnetic tape. Derek

  • Advice on a Beogram 4002 that is always ON?

Hi: I'm trying to restore a 4002 turntable. (AC Motor version) and could use some advice. Here are the symptoms: 1) When I plug the unit in, the turntable immediatly starts turning. (33 RPM Indicator lit.) 2) The sensor arm bulb is not on however the bulb checks out fine. I traced the connection to the transistor on the control board and the path

  • Re: 8002 spontaneously ends play

Let me add this though it may not be relevant. As far a I know the circuit boards if you swap the whole thing is interchangeable between 8000 and 8002. The microprocessor module (ie metal can) is also interchangeable IF you swap the entire unit (ie can and all internal contents). The microprocessor IS NOT interchangeable between 8000 and 8002. The MPU

  • Re: Best B&O cassette deck?

Hi Peter: I left everything in auto mode, ie auto levels. To be quite honest I was quite disappointed at how poorly it recorded. Without NR it was rather hissy and gritty sounding. The 8002 is quieter and cleaner sounding. I also prefer recording without NR. The highs always suffers on the 8002 with NR so I prefer recording as is. If you've got

I have the beocord 8002 and must say that it sounds gorgeous. I never thought much about its sound quality when I use to make and listen to recordings on it. Recently I made some recordings for a friend on the Beocenter 9500's deck and will say the results have been very unsatisfying. Using Dolby, I was able to get better results. I never used NR

  • Beogram 4002 - Always On?

Hi: I'm trying to restore a 4002 turntable. (AC Motor version) and could use some advice. When I plug the unit in, the turntable immediatly starts turning. (33 RPM Indicator lit.) When I hit ON the arm will move across the table to the center and then return rest position however the table continues to rotate. With the arm hovering over the turntable

  • Re: Spare Beogram 4002 Dustcovers?

Hi Kevin: I doubt much can be done with this particular one. Some uncaring owner dropped a cigarette on the cover. Novus makes a good line of acrylic polishes that does wonders for acrylic lids. Hairline scatches can be removed with patience. I've used this on my beogram 8000 and CDX lids. It's a two part formulation. For deeper sractches that

  • Spare Beogram 4002 Dustcovers?

Hi: I'm wondering if anyone has a spare 4002 dust cover? I picked up 4002 deck with cracked and cigarette burned lid which I'm hoping that I can restore. I'm located in the United States. Thanks, Derek
