  • Re: CX-50 Sealed vs. Bass Reflex

There are probably several products out there for gasket material, some specifically marketed for loudspeakers. Here's one. I used that product on a pair of Beovox M70s. Here's a picture of the start of that regasket.

These are great, Martin, keep them coming! I wonder if my wife will let me wallpaper my listening room with these?

  • Re: Favourite non B&O stuff

[quote user="elephant"] So my favourite (non-B&O) stuff is music, movies, books (but not audio nor e-books!), art (but not scultures), a broad range of food with good company at home or in special restaurants (special does not mean expensive, it just means a restaurant that has the imprint of personality), coffee in special (ambiance)

  • Re: Dude, where's my BC1900?

    Q. So the deck turned out to be flawless? A. No. Tried to play a recording of Led Zeppelin II I'd made on my BC2400, and it wouldn't play without stopping every few seconds. Q. What next then? A. Guess I'm going to tear it apart and see what's what anyway. Just not this morning.

    Q. Too bad about the scratch on the "piano keys." A. Yeah, well, that "scratch" turned out to be a streak of dirt. Q. Wow. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you had "The Dumb" on Monday when you hooked the deck up. A. No kidding. Maybe I was stoned. Q. You don't do that any more. A. Oh, yeah. Right.

    Q. So how's the repair going? A. Well, I went out to the garage this morning to start the fix. Took a cassette of Lenny Kravitz's Greatest Hits with me. As I noted before, fast forward and rewind worked, but play did not. I was going to try to document the behavior of the deck before I took it apart. I put the Lenny tape in and rewinded it.

  • Re: Favourite non B&O stuff

As Mika predicted, the discussion has devolved into a discussion of cars. Let's change that. My "favorite non-B&O stuff" is the search for the perfect bourbon to replace my usual:

  • Re: Beogram 4004 & Beomaster 4400 Maintenance and speaker ideas.

They're adjustable. From the service manual: "Adjust the tilt of the speaker so that the lower portion of the cabinet is perpendicular to a straight line to the listening position."

  • Re: I went to 1991 to do some shopping

[quote user="tournedos"] I interrupt Stevie's silky smooth Tin Pan Alley guitar mastery and exercise the functions. Some operations are slightly erratic, so I believe I need to treat the Beocord with one of Dillen's belt kits - not too surprising after 20 years in storage!
