Alright then. Thanks for your piece of advice Peter. Axel once more then I suppose. As an aside, you never did tell us about that Dave Brubeck LP!

Hi, I've found a source here for new, unopened MMC4/5 cartridges. They are not a steal at 180€ for the '5 and 290€ for the '4 . Of course, the sellers think that being new, they must be in perfect condition! I'm trying to negociate with the "Axel argument" (fair enough, isn't it), but nothing so far. Are these

Hi, I've replaced the 33µF on the servo board with a NOS blue Philips (my last one!), a 47µF 40V. Now noise is in good order! While the Beogram was open, I replaced the two output caps with Nichicon Muse BP green caps. And I thought it sounded good! It's amazing what something as trivial as that does to the sound... Now I suppose

Yes, we have Mouser here too, but this is the 15mm one. I was talking about the 63V 5mm ones (they will go where radial electrolytics were).

Wow Søren! What a nice Beomaster! A good deal of work ahead then! Enjoy unsoldering all those orange caps and trimmers!

Hi! Today, because of a humming transformer, I decided to open my Beomaster 5500. I wanted to re-set the brightness of the display, and here's what I found: Not nice eh... Anyway, since it was in the IR sensor region (C20, 10µF 63V, voltage supply), and since I had sensitivity problems... Contact is much better now, even considering the odd
Put a hinge on the thing
Opened the can again. Nothing wrong in there... Xtal just fine. Checked the protection zener (D6), the cap (new). I get 4.93V, 4.97V with processor unplugged. I'm going to give up, unless someone comes up with: 1) a stroke of genius, 2) a processor board for rent!
