In the mid to late 80s B&O 'produced' the BeoCenter 2100 and 2200 (along with a few other models). They were essentially Sanyo models with a custom body design and a B&O record deck (some of the models didn't even have that). They served their purpose though - giving people B&Oish design without the high price tag. Unfortunately

I think the issue with getting BeoLab 5s as rears, is I can easily how after time you'd move them to another room where you didn't intend for them to be originally. They are completely wasted as rears. The absolute maximum I'd go for is a pair of BeoLab 3s, but as Peter says, the 'rotating' function of the BeoSystem 3 with speaker

That's one thing the B&O surround sound systems give you far more of than other systems I've heard - serious punch... BeoLab 5s are obviously the best for this. Having seen quite a lot of movies etc... with the BeoLab 5s, there is absolutely nothing which even touches them in terms of really making you jump out of your seat!

Agreed, there is no compromise in terms of the BeoLab 5s!! For rears though, BeoLab 3s are the most suitable IMO. Do you have a BeoSystem 3/BeoVision 9? If so, it might be worth getting four BeoLab 3s for rears (instead of two BeoLab 9s).
