  • Re: Buy 7-32/7-40 now or wait

beobeo: BV7 is already HD ready. What we are expecting is the Full D model. Except when you watch HD signals on a BeoVision 7, most of the vision clear systems are bypassed I believe. The difference we can expect will be like the difference between BeoSystem 1/2 + BeoVision 4 and the BeoSystem 3 + BeoVision 4. Massive difference in picture quality,

  • Re: BeoLab 6000 as rears sufficient?

soundproof: Nice photo. Yes - but the BeoLab 7.4 only outputs a maximum of 2x250w=500 -- which is 1/5 of th BL5s rating. And remember that one rarely uses all that power. The relevant power here is the 2x250w max in the mid and top of the BL5 (most of the voice info goes through those). Do you know whether the BV5 processes the center channel as mono

  • Re: Apple Lossless Encoding & Airport Express

What you have to remember is that when iTunes imports something with lossless, while there is no compression going on, QuickTime does do things to the CD when importing it. If you want COMPLETELY lossless, try importing as AIFFs. Mac users can simply drag the files off the CD and onto the iTunes logo. EDIT: this changed in iTunes 7.6. Lossless is now

  • Re: Beovison 8 in flesh

5/10 for the sound?! I thought the sound was absolutely fantastic!! The picture is very very impressive as well, I'd give the sound 10/10 considering the price and the picture 9/10.

  • Re: Is the Beo 4 Two Way?

The BeoLink 5000 isn't a touch on the Beo4 though if build quality/finish and response time is what you like. The 5000 feels sluggish and cheap in comparison to the Beo4. The display is pretty cool though, and the two-way functionality is very very useful...

  • Re: Lets get beoworld racing up the charts

Just added a link to BeoWorld in my signature on MacRumors, which is a pretty large site (about 100 times the traffic of BeoWorld I believe). Not sure if the fact that I've got about 2000 posts there would help, but it's a very very popular site so that might be a noticable benefit!

Good point. Most people think the drive cones are either all the way up and down the 6000s, or just at the top. They're actually slap bang in the middle...

  • Re: Woofer in the BeoLab 6000

joeyboygolf: They are not that much more expensive. Less than £40 each as I recall from the last time I replaced some that had fallen to bits. The actual drivers are not very expensive in most speaker systems although the quality that B&O uses is particularly unimpressive. I would say the exception to this statement is the so called woofers

  • Re: Woofer in the BeoLab 6000

Beobird: woofers from 25,- in a speaker from 1150,- damn I'm really shocked about this. Does anybody knows what the prices of the lab 8000 drivers are, and if it is possible to change the old drivers to the new advanced bass drivers ? That's not very surprising. Speakers costing many times that still use pretty cheap drivers. For example ATC
