The frets are definitely still available because I have just bought some. Your dealer has not tried hard enough! The part number is 3450714 for a set of 2 frets for one speaker.

For most all day to day uses the Beolink 1000 will work fine and you can also program with it if you know the key strokes to use. They are not obvious, they have been posted on Beoworld in the past and I believe Chris (Medogsfat on this forum) is a bit of an expert.

I suggest you contact Tim Jarman on www.beocentral.com as I am sure he will be able to help. If you are in the UK and can gat it to him he will fix it for you.

Peter: Bet you can tell the difference between the CDX and a BS9000. And indeed a CD5500. Bass seems to be different and the other sound that separates the men from the boys is the cymbal. I've never had a CDX but the CD50 is quite vinyl-ish in character. B&O CD players like their speakers seem to get more clinical as time goes by.

I can't hear any difference between beosound 4 and beosound 9000 when connected to the same speakers and playing the same cd. I've just been testing these same two items prior to sale connected to my Lab 5000's

The correct outputs are contained within the aux connector. Just out of interest it has inputs as well. The aux connector is like the tape connector without the datalink.
