• Re: VX7000 Playing Up
If you like the look of the VX in your setup, then keep it there for the time being, purely for cosmetic reasons.
That's what I have done - my white MX6000 on the motor stand just would not look complete without the white VX5000 under it. Actually it works - however, it is clumsy to use with the later MX

  • Re: B&O stock is going 50% down today !

Another nice day for the B&O share: it hit already 74,00 DKK, which is close to the original price (80 DKK) before the offering effectively split it in April. The new shares, which were sold for 19 DKK, are a pretty good deal by now (+289 %)...

  • Re: Grand Prix Moderne Stereo 609
The FM dial was travelled - nothing but static. After about one minute or so, the set started to crackle a bit from the speakers. I quickly made sure that the crackling sound came from both speakers so would have to be from a common source. Oh yes, I had decided to do so but I forgot to clean the valve pins and sockets

  • Re: Beotime Review

I'm sure a constant backlight is a no-no for any battery operated device - especially since it is not regchargeable, and apparently replacing the batteries is a chore due to the form factor. I personally would hate just about anything glowing about at night (I have covered a number of status and power LEDs in other devices...). I've had no problem

  • Re: Dead MX 5000 a good deal?

If you think you can repair it yourself, it maybe is worth it... otherwise you will have a 42 kg doorstop and a general problem - I guess the previous owner has already decided it's not worth paying a shop to fix it? Featurewise it is a little limited and the chassis isn't "proper" B&O anyway. If you just need a TV of that genre

  • Re: Ouverture with faulty doors and CD mechanism.

Of course you can replace just the parts, but it might not be the only problem. To me, it seems TR14 on the opposite side of the PCB at upper right has been so hot that the solderings have opened. It's part of the power supply to IC2, the door motor driver which has been quite hot as well. I guess this might happen if the doors get stuck - but isn't

  • Re: Beosound 9000 on Beosound 3000 floor stand

I think that combo with a horizontal 9000 looks pretty awful. I'd sell the stand (and the broken 2300) and put the money towards a proper 9000 floor stand...

  • Re: Samsung LED TV with Tablet remote. Is this what we wanted from B&O instead of the Beo5?

Actually this isn't too far from the experimental DVB-H receiving mobile phones that had a trial run in Finland by Nokia four years ago, just a different transmitting medium (and a one-to-one delivery concept instead of broadcasting). This probably could've been done by their internet tablets some years ago. The problem with the company is that
I'm sure there'll be a queue of people along shortly to tell us "yes, but look at the horrible plastic case".
It looks pretty good - or, at least, doesn't jump into your face - but I'm sure it feels awful *fondles the nice, shiny black plastic around his Samsung monitor*

  • Re: MX4002 service counters access

That's what I thought as well, until I tried MENU-1-1-GO on my MX6000IT. Voilà, full service menu! (Did work on my MX4002 as well. Use EXIT to get out of it before you mess your TV up.) But, you're right - there are no hour counters as far as I can tell. Two long series of digits on the "last error" page, but nothing I could
