• Re: The first girl you had a crush with.............
i dont think this "off topic" area on the forum gets used enough i find it nice to have somewhere to chat and chillout
You need to join the Wednesday© thread then, Seanie! Loads of various bull, only talk on B&O (and whatever Puncher feels like banning that evening) is explicitly prohibited
So that is why I am thinking of moving to a wired house and why this potential announcement is of vital interest !
And the 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity will only get worse, not only because of microwave ovens. These are spread-spectrum communications, meaning that two unassociated devices, even on the same

  • Re: How to ruin a Beocom 2!

This phone (which was previously featured in this thread ) shouts "up yours!" in a way I never thought an objet d'art humanly could. If I had a couple of millions more of loose cash I would buy it

  • Re: CRT projectors

You can't get away from the adjustments. They need to be redone each time the projector (or whatever it projects on) is moved, since the colour sources aren't concentric. It's very much like adjusting the convergence in a CRT tv set - where it is usually only done once at the factory. It's not that hard though, you typically switch on

  • Re: Beomaster 900K mutes itself

Thanks. The problem may take days to surface, so this will have to wait until winter when I bring it home from the summer house and can keep its guts permanently on display So you support my theory of some transistor shorting internally? I have two more 900's so I could of course try to swap stereo decoder boards to further isolate the problem.

  • Re: old beovision and safety

Television fires are usually caused by accumulation of dust and overheating. But anyway you should get it repaired sooner than later - if nothing else, for the safety of the set itself. Now it could be a matter of redoing some solderings and replacing a few caps, but if the fault goes on long enough it can cause wider damage, including charred PCBs

  • Re: MasterLink ML specification, protocol, etc.
Thanks to the schematics and from an electrical point of view, ML looks very much as RS-485. Bidirectional asynchronous data transmission on a single balanced wire. But I don't know if the level are compatible ?
Seeing that the masterlink connector has as a first thing that network of LL4488 diodes as an

  • Bored?

Got some time to spend, and the good people on Beoworld just don't provide you with enough new reading? Go to the second page on Posts you have not read and look at the URL; it has a part that says PageIndex=2. Fix the number to something like 100 or 200 and load the page, and see where you land (or just click on the "Last" page link and

  • Beomaster 900K mutes itself

I have a nice, otherwise well working Beomaster 900K. Every now and then, usually after extended play, it decides to mute itself. Lights stay on (so not a problem in the power switch), but nothing comes out of the speakers. If I turn it off and straight back on, it always continues to work as if nothing happened, so it doesn't sound like a bad contact

  • Re: new masterlink
Why they came out with a 3 wire solution on BeoSound 5, for instance, is beyond my understanding..
I guess they were simply in a hurry. Putting DC power in one cable, control through USB, and video through DVI - all ready and tested - is a super easy solution to the problem compared to developing something
