Jon, Sorry to hear that you are unhappy. We have a few rules at Beoworld, the moderators are here to keep things clean and we do our best. We are only humans though and none of us are flawless so if something unfair has been going on, we really would like to know about it. PM to you ! Martin

I have new motors but check first if the motor gets any power at all. About 12-14V should be expected. Martin

Lyder mest som et problem med ustabil strømforsyning. Check lodninger i strømforsyningen, især omkring spændingsregulatorerne. Jeg har set mange fejl dér. Check også lodninger ved stikkene til det øverste panel. Fejlen i båndspilleren kunne være slappe drivremme. Kan den ikke spole båndet

Is the solenoid (electric coil that activates the arms), doing anything when the arm is supposed to lower ? Do you have a voltmeter ? Martin

Related to a MX4000 repair thread, I believe - though it doesn't seem very important, since it's merely a spelling correction. Martin

Leonardo, I noticed your PM with the same content. Let's take it in public, others may benefit from what we find out; Remove power from the Beogram. Can you operate the solenoid, piston and its metal arms by hand ? When/if you do, does the arm lift/lower accordingly ? Martin

C1 is bad, no doubt ! Replace it and note that the old C1 had 3 negative pins. All three solder pads will have to be connected together and to the negative pin of the new C1. The positive pin goes to the center solder pad. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! The tonearm dragging across the record reather than lifting and lowering is a standard issue for many decks in this range. It's a fairly simple fix, down to lubricating a point inside, directly under the tonearm pivot point. We had a thread about this some time ago and I remember adding a photo too but it may have been killed

I'm speechless... I wasn't online when this went live and just realized that I missed the fun. Being busy in the lower sections, err.. I mean the sections at the lower part of the forum homepage, I didn't even realize that it had taken place. It's a pleasure being here at Beoworld and I'm baffled to see that what I love doing so

Put an ohmmeter across C1. You can't tell if a capacitor is good merely by looking at it. Martin
