  • Re: BM5000 with Beolab Pentas?

You can use the Speakerlink connection. This uses the speaker output from the 5000 but utilises another pin as well which supplies the display information. You will need to find the correct cable but otherwise it will be fine. It works by presenting the 5000 with a very high impedance which is easy to drive and produces a low output. This is then amplified

  • Re: Transporting a Beogram 1700

You need a Beogram 4000! No B&O collection is complete without one! The 1700 is a good start though!

As it is a MMC20 type cartridge, I would remove it. If it has no guard, small box with cotton wool will keep it safe. For the deck, lift off the top platter and tape this to the bottom of the deck - if they get loose, they smash everything in their way! Do the transit screws up and then put a piece of foam rubber under the arm and tape the arm down

  • Re: Beomaster 2200 with poor sound quality on phono

The service manual is on site. However check the record player first - more likely the stylus is shot than anything. If it plays well though another amplifier, the BM2200 service manual is on site but you will need to be a silver member to access it and be competent with circuit diagrams and have the right equipment!

  • Re: Beogram 3000 connection to a Beomaster 2200

The two pins should be able to be unscrewed. Perfectly reasonable to do this - keep the pins safe somewhere though. They can be reattached if you need to in future. Don't just snap them off though!

  • Re: Beolit Speaker

Agree completely. Tim has spent quite a bit of time on this project and seems to have a good success rate.

  • Re: Repaired MMC 20S from schallplattennadeln.de

If it anything like mine, it will be superb. I had a Shibata stylus fitted and it tracks well and has much less sibilance that the original MMC20S.

A little known fact is that moderators can see the IP address of all posts on any thread..... Not a lot of people know that.

  • Re: B&O Programmer

It is for use with the Beosat LM - an analogue system so not really very useful. I do have a very basic user manual.

  • Re: Soundsmith huge price raise

Fair points - the MMC2 was repaired using a sapphire tube and a contact line diamond the original was snapped so it needed new cantilever and diamond - I attach a photo of the two cantilevers of an original and the repair - prize for the person who guesses the new one! (Actually no prize because i have forgotten which is which). The suspension is changed
