  • Re: SP10 cartridge misfunction

I would post the whole thing - if the stylus was very tricky to remove I wonder if it is damaged. The only problem I see is that you are using the wrong cartridge - for the Beogram 1000, you should really have an SP6/7 or 14 as these have a different compliance than the SP10 and SP12 which were really designed for the later decks. The SP10 and 12 were

  • Re: BEOLAB 5S IN CONCERT NEXT WEEK - see the story

Certainly a fascinating idea! Anyone live near and going? A review would be nice! The Wii controller sounds amusing - I should send my wife who is addicted to Mario Kart!

  • Re: BM5000 with Beolab Pentas?

Speakerlink came in with the 5500. The 500 has two pin plugs for speaker 1 and 3 pins plugs for speaker 2 to power MCL82. I think Steve is making the same mistake as me. I thought Pentas were introduced with the 5000 system but Timhas confirmed I was wrong. He still has a 5000 system! I attach the diagram from the service manual.

They go to Lee - if technical, he sends them to a variety of people. What were you asking?

We have the 5203 service manual on site. I think your cartridge is at fault - Axel repairs these and sounds as if he could be a good solution. Look here for his site. The shell will come off - where are you based?

  • Re: Help with Beogram 1500 silver top later edition

Should be fine - I have played Beograms through all sorts of amplifiers - the output from the cartridge is a tad lower than most moving magent cartridges but only a small amount. I guess the problem is the cable. Have a look at www.Beotech.co.uk - part of this site - for the pin outs of the DIN - Steve at Sounds heavenly can sort out a proper cable

  • Re: A vintage upgrade

This was my system at one point - I think this was the period whn I had redone the numbers using Letraset - I used a Helvetica font. The Beogram is the Acoustical version of the 3000 - Andy has this now.

  • Re: A vintage upgrade

The reason they wear is that the numbers are simply not that tough. Later models used a different process - I cannot remember seeing a Beomaster 3000 with any missing numbers. I would certainly get a new panel - I know what you mean about older items having a certain patina but B&O looks its best when perfect. I am going to pick mine up in July

Very nice! The ultimate B&O collector's item! Now you will have to look out for the Beogram 3000 to go with it! Frede can no doubt help!

  • Re: Beocord 6500 How to replace belt!!!!!!

Andy is correct - the Beocord 6500/7000 is a different beast to the 5500 despite looking externally very siimilar. The 5500 has three motors, the 6500 just one. Have a look at Beocentral for a good description. Not much difference in performance though!
