  • Re: Beo Master 7000

Congratulations ? Sorry but I don't agree on this mod. It may improve the sound in some way but you removed a modification B&O introduced to stabilize the amplifiers and keep them from eventual self-oscillating. Probably depending on output impedance (low impedance/heavy loads/link speakers etc.). You were about to remove them on your BM5500

  • Re: Master 39 K

Nice set ! The dial lamp is mentioned in the service manuals as type "Master 39K". Lamps for the Master Deluxe 39K is mentioned as "Master Deluxe 39K". They are very similar but, I believe, different - or they would probably bear the same markings. The service manuals will provide more info - I will give it some more time tonight

  • Re: 1970's Beogram 3000 bits..

Hi Dave, You have one of the most classic radial decks from B&O. The mass ring is not found on the Beogram 3000. It was introduced on later versions of the Beogram 2200/2400/6000 series of decks to improve rumble damping etc. which is probably where you've seen it. I've never seen it on a Beogram 3000 - and I've seen many - but if someone

  • Re: Beocenter 801

Simon, welcome to Beoworld ! Beocenter 801 ? Never heard of that one before but there are some odd and rare ones out there. Does it have a serial number label with a 4-digit type number, that number could be nice to know and will tell us more - also the speakers. A couple of photos would also be nice to see, we like photos. Martin

All members are different, act and feel different (which also shows in this thread). It's not given that 10.000 members on a forum like this will stay friends forever or agree on the way the forum is run or moderated and people are free to come and go as they please. There's no rule telling you to use Beoworld but its my impression that the

  • Re: Removing Beocord tape reels

The top must come off first, that's correct. I like to insert two thin flat objects (while still in the Beocord so you will only have to use three hands), and then lever it off. Alternatively, use a small electronics sized cutter and bite just below the plastic top. The plastic tops are quite flexible and will take a lot of abuse without breaking

  • Re: beogram 6006 platter not moving, coils are humming

You are not using a 60Hz transformer module in a 50Hz area or vice versa ? Beogram 6006 / 8000 / 8002 won't work with stepup/stepdown voltage converters if the mains frequency is wrong compared to what is printed on the transformer module. The transformer module needs to match the local mains frequency. I wish I could guide you further, but I think

  • Re: beogram 6006 platter not moving, coils are humming

A scope would provide the best view of the pulses but you can try to rearrange the sensor slightly inwards or outwards and see if it changes anything. The humming once per revolution is a typical symptom of a bad tachodisc (not in this case unless some holes are blocked or the disc is dented) or misadjusted opto sensor. Alternatively, measure the voltage

  • Re: Beo Master 7000

Won't you face a serious risk of self-oscillation in the amplifier if you remove the feedback caps ? It's quite common to see unstable DC-coupled amplifiers like this one go into self-oscillation at full power, typically at a high (inaudible) frequency, 100KHz or so, overrunning the amplifier without anyone knowing about it until it dies in

  • Re: beogram 6006 platter not moving, coils are humming

Please don't replace components in panic, you may introduce new faults. Is the tachodisc OK ? Is it a steel disc or a photographic ? Are the sensor pulses from the tachodisc opto OK ? Martin
