Cleve How is the recovery from B&O addiction coming along?
Simon, It isn't. Not only am I thinking about a 9500, I now find I am spending inordinate amounts of time on this site and on ebay. I am also displaying unfortunate behavioural changes as well. Went to pick up Peter's BM 4400 from Lee
If anyone has thouhts about the appropriate counterwieght/tonearm wieght settings or how high the black piece that holds the tonearm should be, please let me know.
Michael, It depends on which cartridge you have. An MMC 20s would work best at 1.5 grams, and MMC 20EN at about 1.2/1.3gms. Given that these cartridges

Peter, As a direct beneficiary of your desire for a BM 4401, I have to say the whole system looks very good. How about a Beocord 2200 in Rosewood to really complete the aesthetic match! A query about the positioning of M100s. Are they set a little close together for a decent stereo stage or was it purely for the photo? Cleve

Hi Michael, The 3404 looks to have the same arm as the European market's Beogram 1700, and I had a very similar problem with the arm lift on my BG1700 - a completely locked up arm lift mechanism - it wouldn't lift at all - even slowly. There is some really useful help on this thread, although I would always respect Peter's advice on anything
But I am not addicted and I can stop anytime I want.......
Would it be appropriate for we Beoworlders to have our own '12 step programme' (similar to AAs) to help with this? Simon, at least you have passed a few pieces on - I haven't got to that stage yet! And in my original post, i didn't

My partner says I have an addiction. Rubbish. I'd like to tell you my story and you will all agree it's perfectly normal behaviour. I'm sure it is, really sure. Isn't it? I was a contented music lover, regularly listening to my Beosystem 2500 and occasionally, my Beosystem 10 in the garden, and once in a while watching my Beovision LX5500
