I am trying to understand this thread, forgive me if I have missed something - Beosystem 2 can 'handle' full HD because quite simply it has nothing to do with scaling and there is no DVI output socket to go into it (can't speak for the Beosystem 1). If you have a 1080p panel, Beosystem 2 can 'handle' full HD so long as your source

Why a Sw upgrade? If you have the HD module then HD plays over DVI-I, Analogue Audio over Scart and Digital Audio over a coaxial digital input. I do not understand DVI AV4 port - AV4 is commonly used when you are using L/R phono stereo leads for the sound, instead of Scart. HD can be assigned to any port.

Set AV2 to STB/DTV, use ir option as c2, set hdtv to dvi-i. Use Pace Sky+ as your set top box.

Personally I hink it has given good value at almost 28000 hours use - £6-£700 for a new tube fitted for a 28 seems a little on the high side - would seem to be theprime suspect from this distance!
-
Has anyone any experience of using the above? I set the STB to PACE SKY+ but communication is hit and miss from a BEO4 and I fear this is a SW quirk - THOMSON SKY HD is a separate setting, do B&O need to release an Amstrad setting? Strange but true.

Hi Keith - I am unsure if you have ever changed an STB-C chip, because there are no screws to remove at all. On the right hand side of the board is a clip which holds the PCB in place, apply pressure to that and the board in its entirety comes away. 5 mins is generous from start to finish (including taking the back of the Avant off) - be sure to wear

I would quite happily own a white BS9000 - have you seen the white Beolab 8000? They look Ok in themselves, but to pair them with a black base? Shoddy beyond belief, if they don't take a white spray can to the bases then others surely will!

Personally I would check the serial numbers on those speakers - they should be 20xxxxxx if they are 2008 ex-demos - however if they are sold with a 5 year warranty it doesn't really matter about age (so long as they are MK2). IMHO.

Exceptional picture performance through a 40" full HD LCD screen with 100 / 120Hz technology, motion compensation and glare surface. ........unlike the 8-32 or 8-26 then?

They are not released yet!
