Jeff, I think the new Apple-branded AV docks take care of that.

I updated my library last night for about $35USD. I should hope that this move by Apple will soften some of the criticism leveled at B&O that the BS/BM-5 isn't iTunes friendly enough.

OKF, ML does not handle video in any set-up so, no, it is not sufficient in itself. BeoMaster 5 will likely use the 'PC' command on modern B&O TV's, so I would expect to use a 15-pin VGA cable for video. For video, it will also output DVI-I, S-video, and composite video.

And in the end, what does 'future-proof' really mean? How often over the last 6 years (to build on the proposed 3-year cycle) have we seen ground-breaking new capabilities and standards pop up out of nowhere? Not too long ago we were all criticising the BeoSystem 1/2 for not supporting DVI. DVI? Now we're screaming for more/better/advanced

All I can say is that in an un-controlled comparison between two 65" panels on the same BS-3 the resolution difference was essentially impossible to discern on an HD source. As to SD ,I have come to trust the BS-3 and its ability to tailor the image to the screen beyond satisfaction.

BeoLab 5 is by far the most spectacular...but the one I want in my living room is the BV-7/US.

Moxxey, I can't imagine why B&O might have felt pressured to be up the the minute/bleeding edge....

The issue seems to be that you want the digital out put from 2 different sources to go to the BeoLab 5's. As pointed out earlier, the BeoSystem 3/BV-7 doesn't supply this output, and there's only one digital input on the 5's. In a pure B&O setup the 5's will only look for the digital input when the source is 'CD". That's
