jk1002: Beocare confirmed that they are working on blueray in their forum. I don't think the blueray upgrade is such a big deal, it will still -play normal DVDs. Question is how high the price will go up. I doubt they throw that in as freebie. As for format not taking off, I agree but it can anytime once they lower the price to DVD level which I

Jez: Why not just use a PS3, B&O software supports it, PS3 will up grade constantly through it's wireless network without even having to do anything. I'm using BV4 50"/BS3 with software 4.24 and a PS3 that just uploaded to 24fps and couldn't be happier. are you getting the white flash problem please?

Doc: moxxey: Doc: A retro fit will be a B&O novelty, will it not? The biggest problem with an internal drive is the constant sw updates Blu-ray drives receive. I'd expect B&O to be overly cautious and wait for the dust to settle, before they committ. Nothing worse than customer who expect long-term products, when their drive is out of date

There is another aspect. B&O historically had a product range that lasted for years but im not sure the high tech revolution has done the dealers many favours. With flat screen technology moving so fast the prices of previous models falls in a dramatic way- what was a non HD BV5 worth - 12800 new - less trade discount. But to dispose of this the

wtlc2zpx: I would wait at least a year, and don't forget: location, location, location... Not so sure about that one. I think the high costs associated with high street stores is simply to much for the new climate we find oursleves in. How many specialist hifi dealers have prestigous high street stores?

Greg: britops: Good luck, you'll need it. Yes, that's exactly what prompted the 'am I insane' question. Although I'm not overly concerned by share price per se, not being an investor as such, one has to assume that dive is a reflection of poor sales in the stores - and that of course does concern me. We'll see. I think for one

mjmedlo: 355f. . do you speak from experience regarding the 720 vs. 1080?? also, would it change your mind if i watch blu ray appx. 2 or 3 times per week?? At The IFA electronics fair, when every major brand was pushing 1080, Pioneer uncovered their new screen- Individuals in the business all marvelled at the new 1080 pioneer and how far in advance

mjmedlo: Your post brings me to my next question. . My dealer is really pushing the 720p panel and has offered a substantial discount. I feel like a step to 720 from a 1080p panel is not the way to go? Any one have experience with both B&O panels? 720p and 1080p? My dealer says the difference is insignificant but I don't want to buy outdated

TripEnglish: 355f, Your definition of "the best" is a bit simplistic. That's like saying that Bigfoot is the best vehicle Ford has produced since it has very very big wheels. Upgrades tend to present challenges as well as benefits. We hold out on adopting the newest kit off the assembly line for the same reason sensible buyers do not buy

mjmedlo: My current set up includes the BS3 with a Toshiba 1080p panel and lab5s in the front, a pair of 4000s as center channel, 8000s as surround and lab 4s as rear; I love the B&O processor but am wondering if I'd really tell that much difference with the B&O panel over the Commercial panasonic panel. . or. . .to state it plainly is there
