I would not be surprised if Apple and others have had lossless versions from the beginning. I thought like you that it was only a matter of time before the lossless versions would be available. There are at least 2 reasons Apple lossless and others are not available.......most people don't care and if lossless were available, they would have DRM

There is no such thing as future proofing when designing a network. However it is good for a least five years maybe 10. Companies large and small are specifying cat 7 for many new networks. As the recession ends whenever that is, the demand for cat 7 will increase significantly.
