  • Re: Beogram 4002 TYPE 5503

Martin: I think I'm good on the transistor. The online cataloge where I looked it up crosses the 2N5034 to a 2N3055. 1TR1 - 39 volts on the collector, 23 volts on the emitter with the arm away from rest position (ie ON). In OFF position (arm at rest) collector reads 42 volts DC, emitter has 2.4 volts AC The units gets pretty close to shutting off

  • Re: Weak channel on beogram 1202

Austin: I've never worked on the 1202 but the signal path from the cartridge to the outputs is fairly straighforward. Check the following: 1) RCA or DIN connector. Take a an ohm meter (cartridge removed) and do continuity from chasis to each pin of the DIN or RCA cable. They should all be 0 ohms or pretty close. I had a beogram 3400 with a muted

  • Re: Beogram 4002 TYPE 5503

Hi Martin: I replaced the power transistor and things seems to have improved slightly. When you hit stop, the carriage returns and the 33 rpm light dims. The motor will stop most of the time but sometimes rather stoping it sits there jittering as if there is not enough voltage to overcome the inertia for rotation. For those following this thread, the

  • Re: Beomaster 8000

Hi Martin (dillen): I wish you were a lot closer, as it would be very nice to send my parent's BM8000 to you for a makeover! Agreed that discreet amps perform better than hybrids especially for demanding loads. That being said, the BC9500 with its Sanyo chip amp does a very respectable job driving the 25 watt rated Rogers LS3/5a that I'm currently

  • Re: Beolab Penta 1 revidieren

Hi Martin: What kind of mod would you suggest for the Penta Amplifier? I don't own a pair but have always found your comments about improving/modding the equipment very interesting to read. Any suggestions for modding the amplifier on the Beomaster 8000? Someone else remarked that they found this amp to sound "lackluster" and I concur

  • Re: Beogram 4002 TYPE 5503

Hi Martin: -Command Panel checks out fine. No stuck keys. (I disassembled the entire panel and reglued the keys as some of the plastic tabs beneath had fallen off.) -The deck is completely responsive except for: 1) the constant running platter 2) sensor arm not lit 3) tone arm lift/drop won't respond (likely because sensor arm not lit) 4) unit won't

  • Beogram 4002 TYPE 5503

Hi: Does anyone have a copy of the schematics for the Beogram 4002 Type 5503? I have the manual for type 5523 however it appears quite different from 5503. I'm trying to troubleshoot mine. The sensor arm won't light up (bulb is ok) and the unit continues to remain on even after slide mechanism returns to rest. Any assistance/advice would be

  • Re: SMMC20EN

Peter: Very interesting. I've never used these types of transfers before. I'm located in the US, any idea where I might find them? Is there a trade name that they go by eg. Lettra Set? Thanks, Derek

Peter: What are "printed transfers"? Is this something you print on laser printer and then "scratch" onto the surface? Would you mind sharing the product name? If this works like Lettra Set ie not a piece of printed tape label, you can add durability to it by spraying it with a coat or two of matte finish photo graphic lacquer.

  • Beomaster 8000 Display

Hi: Several of the segments on my Beomaster 8000 is out. I'm searching for replacment LEDs. It appears that I can use the slightly larger surface mount LEDs. Does anyone know the voltage ratings on the individual segments? Would something like this be suitable? http://optodatabook.liteon.com/DataBookFiles/8481/LTST-S110KRKT.pdf Derek
