• Re: Beomaster 4400 - Capacitor replacement

Well done Søren, but you might want to dismantle the fascia completely to have access to the switches which you will have to clean thoroughly. Then everything else will be much easier to clean (wash, even) sans Q-tips!

  • Re: Beocenter 3500 restoration

Today, I can't hear the transformer hum at all. Why? I don't know really. Anyway, I'm keeping the Beocenter. It is now playing the Round Midnight (Bertrand Tavernier's film) LP. This thing just plays LPs so well!

Hi and welcome here! The belts are indeed available. I'm not sure Martin (aka Dillen here) has finalized his kit, just ask him: he's a dedicated (nay, more than that!) B&O fan and he is always kind and helpful. He has his kits re-manufactured specially, and they are not generic eBay items. I have some spare parts (the lamps, the push-button

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Series 5511 Spindle Bearing Question

Hi ! The early 4002 have a Beogram 4000/6000 bearing and these have some play but not much. The later ones have a smaller bearing and have indeed much more play. This is perfectly normal, this is an auto-centering design with only one sintered bronze bearing at the top. But it should be stable in rotation, as it stabilizes itself at the bottom with

  • Re: Beogram 3000 spinning problem
Even when new, the belt always came off if fitted and the platter spun without the top platter in place.
Ditto on my Beocenter 3500. Seems normal because the subplatter belt groove finds itself not aligned with the pulley so the belt stupidly slips down !

  • Re: An old cupboard ...

Wow, this radiogram cabinet looks beautiful! I know a bit about old valve radios (I have several, but alas no B&O, as rare as hens' teeth here), and this one must have sounded awesome... it used CY1 (rectifier), CF1, CF3 and CBL1 (output, 4W max) valves. Good luck on your new quest then!

Anyone interested on a new boxed MMC5 for 130€? It's still for sale!

  • Re: MX 4000 Standby light will not display anymore

Hmmm. If you have no experience in repairing electronics, just have someone do it for you. The failure should be simple to fix for a TV repairman, and the necessary parts are cheap as chips. Basically, you will pay for the time spent (I'd say less than an hour).

Hi, For me—faint clicking noise—it was a bad main PSU HT capacitor. A new Panasonic one solved the problem.
