I had the same problem with mine and got it repaired under warranty. As the previous poster mentioned there is a known fault with the ealrier models. I also find at times that I get electric shocks when unplugging it from charging. It is currently with the dealer again to check over the PSU. Has anyone else encountered this? Simon.

Thanks for your prompt response red. Actually, since posting I have spent all this time looking on the net and realised that the PS3 is almost certainly the way to go. The latest 160gb model offers everything I am looking for. It will do what an Apple TV does as the recent updated models now have Media Server capabilities which from what I have read
