Yes, and then maybe mount MKS instead of polyester. Polyester caps are generally reliable components and not the first to suspect of faults but I have seen tired ones, some that were open circuit, ohmic or even shorted. Martin

I'm sure I can find a woofer but it sounds as if a complete speaker would be best. I will look for one. Martin

Paddy or henrykin (or both ), As far as I remember there are no speaker safety circuits in passive Penta's (read: Pentas - I'm one of the misspellers) but I could be wrong, that happens often. None in active's crossovers either if my fading memory serves me right. However, I'm sure someone will come along very soon and correct me again

Your tech guy could check the flex cable connector, where the flex cable goes to the board. And its solders. Martin

It could be the flex cable running to the swinging laser block. I've seen cases where a couple of the leads in the cable broke as if the cable had a hard bend right there. Contact was only present with the cable at certain angles. Will it play the first minute of any track on a CD or just the first minute of any CD ? Was it secured for transport

Apprx 1800 easily accessible and another apprx 2000 stored away. About 5-10% are CDmaxi'es. Plus about 800 LP's, 400 12" maxies (from my mobile discoteque days) and 1400 45's. Complete ABBA catalogue. Martin
