Very odd! The output from the BM5500 is dumb - it is always there with no selection possible. It must be the selection of the Aux socket on the 2300 and 9000. I don't have one of these systems to play with though I have used the Tape 2 out on the 5500 for years with my computer and it has never failed.

I suppose the first thing I would do is check the cross over - however I wonder if the drive was correctly repaired - if done by an amateur, it may well not have been centred properly.

I cannot see any reason the Beomaster will not produce an output so it must be the input on the BS9000. You could also try tape 1 of course.

You did use the outputs and not the inputs on the BM5500? They are badly labelled!

Yes. It works just as if the music was on the iPod and you do have volume control as well, to an extent, using just the iPod. Means digital music is accessible as using just the Beo4 is impossible with 200Gb of music! Also means I can access it all as the biggest iPod is now only 120Gb - although I do have a 160Gb one!

Looks like a nice one - I think red is one of the better colours. The Beopower is well worth having - is this one from Denmark? The seller there seems to have a reasonable reserve on - most seem to be about £150 when they sell. I did have a red 700 for a few years - went to Bellac though.

I was thinking the BS9000 but you can certainly get a connecting cable to go to the BS3 - AV4,5 and 6 seem to have RCA in for audio - clearly there will be no video in.

They tend to go for around £100 - especially if in good condition and I have seen them go for £200. The one I would get is the 700 as it has an internal transformer and the silver top - I don't like the black finish of the 707 though this is possibly the very best. I do like the sound but most will need the speaker overhauling - no spare

That is certainly an idea though the quality of most FM transmitters seem to me to be not that great. I attach my computer to my system using a wire and an iPod Touch acts as a remote. Better quality and works anywhere where I have a link speaker.

Both of these are very complex machines and though a fuse is possible, it is actually unfortunately likely to merely be the result of something more serious.
