The Beograms can connect to other systems without datalink. Just use the buttons on the deck. Most other systems will use RCA connectors so you will probably need to get a 5 pin din to rca converter. Remove the datalink pins (pins 6 and 7)from the lead on the deck (they just screw out) before use.

philipsmz333: This thread is heaven!! You are a total legend Andy T!! Agree 100%. Genius thread again Andy. Compulsive reading. w.r.t the hangover. You need a pint of fresh orange juice and a good fry up to sort that out. Kill or cure!

It shouldn't effect the pentas 'cos they should be on standby but just to be safe I would disconnect their mains supply. Your tape symptoms are typical of a broken belt. Should not cost more than 1 hour service labour plus the part. Say £60-70 or so in the UK.

I don't understand that quote since the 3500 does not have an IR emitter according to the circuit diagram!

Basically, it looks like a pile of sh.t now and what's more that's about all it will be worth in 12 month's time. The B&O however will still look good and be worth good money when his Marantz is in the skip somewhere.

How does he drive it with two flat tyres? Amazing!
-
As far as I know the 3500 is one way only.
