  • Re: going retro

Razz1971: I had a 5500 once, but couldn't get used to it. It didn't get the smile on my face when i walked into the room.....and for me that is an importent part of owning B&O.....the smile Depends pretty much on whether you lusted after it, seeing it every day, months and months before you came to own it. I certainly smile at it every time

francoisvl: Peter : The CDX uses 14 bit 4X oversampling so I guess some of the warm sound will be distortion! I like it though! I took one in and auditioned it against some £1000 CD players and it was not disgraced! I like the 2400 more than any on the other similar models. I like the display and the uncluttered touch area. The 4500 is too shiny

OK missed the fact that you're on Vista. Explore all of the Nvidia settings - they will tend to be at some "default" value, there may be higher performance values to be had. Don't worry if there are no "low power" settings these will tend to go hand in hand with lower performance.

OK - try right-clicking in an open area of your desktop. Select "properties", then "advanced". Somewhere there, along the tabs at the top of the window, will normally be mention of graphics settings or acceleration or some such thing.

  • Re: Membership notification

Tom: Daniel: Tom: I will keep my ***f for another 12 months now OK, now I know why the founder f is after the stars and not before the stars. Good one, did not notice that before... Reminds me of the Beoworld T-shirt logo I proposed after the last founder member slot had gone .................

You still need to ensure that all power saving functions of the graphics chip are turned off and all performance features are turned on - either from the control panel or taskbar etc.

  • Re: PENTA MK III not that bad

I have to say that I have generally only read good things here about Pentas! I've never heard anyone 'dis' them (except jbg)

jonnyb: Oooh...that looks very, very nice. Can't wait to see the 3s in white too, Lee. I reckon they'll look amazing too. There's something very '2001' about white, futuristic things What - you mean dated ?? Actually it's very nice cool Isn't it frightening that all those "futuristic" films / TV series are now in
