Sorry to be the one, but it won't work. The Beomaster 5000 used Master Control Link 82, the Beocenter 9000 uses Master Control Link 2. This was a later system and is the one used by all the later systems until Masterlink was introduced. the two are not readily compatible. The remotes are also different - the MCP and Terminal 5000 use unique codes

Two way remote control is what will be worth waiting for. I agree about the BC2. It is worth getting a late one with audible feedback for the cotrols though.

Have you tried with just a normal phone line? B&O phones can be a little temperamental if not presented with a normal scenario!

Have you tried unplugging the TV for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in again. First thing I always do if something odd goes on!

I would suggest that the problem is with the connection of the base to your telephone line. That would give you the symptoms you describe. Check the wires you have been given. Was the phone made for your market?

Actually to be fair, you suggested the answer, I just told you how to do it! I have not had a BC1 myself so the answer is not immediately obvious - I had to do a trawl through some manuals to confirm things - I don't think anyone would not tell you if they knew - it is just a matter of finding someone who has been in the same position! Very pleased

But for me it is not just the price, it is the product. The TVs are just not good enough or special enough. Even the BV9 is spoilt by the ALT lens. It is supposed to be a picture frame - in which case, why does it have a bit of metal sticking out the front! That should have been behind the canvas - not on display! Spoils the effect completely for me

The 901 is very common - and should be cheap. Getting one in good condition is trickier. I would not pay more than about £30. The 1500 is quite a rare beast and is the same family as the 2200 and 4400 in electronic design. Not a lot of power - about 25W a channel but a real beauty. Not seen one around for a while but £60 would be tops for
