Jandyt: Un-be-flippin'-lievable!! Since when did a PM to a moderator need moderating????? Just sent my story to Kevin hope it doesn't get lost, took me ages to make! While being screened for gratuitous photo threads it was probably quarantined for overuse of the word "fiddle" - btw did you ever consider a career writing the photo stories
-
Peter : You are too kind! It does sometimes surprise me when I trawl out some completely useless fact! Not senile yet! Do you keep spare halves of old pipes in your pockets??
-
Jandyt: Great to read your story Peter. Thanks. Kevin, you'll be pleased to note that I have started mine, and should get it to you tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Andy T. That's what I said - took me over a week

Chefbob: .................the CD50 is a piece of garbage .................... Bob Certainly isn't, it's a very good CD player. The converters, while unique in archtecture, also had a unique sound and they were quite sort after.

casdave: The best encoder I have come across so far in terms of sound quality is CDex. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ ....and yes, compare an MP3 from this encoder to a file from another both at the same bitrate and you can tell the differance. ... and that's my point exactly - as a definitive statement "320kbps is better than 128kbps"
-
Agree - but who encoded the samples, which encoder did they use etc. etc. I would encourage those that can to try their own experiment, using their own encoder (be it iTunes or whatever) and their own source material and listen again. Not saying the result would be different but I believe in trying it for yourself. (Would you take the same guy's

Jandyt: No, nothing has changed since I joined. I hope I don't lose my 'f' You needn't worry - I'll always put a " f " in front of "jandyt"
-
Jandyt: Well I don't get a message, though it did tell me I would receive an email, but I never. I assume you haven't changed your email/service provider since you first registered with Beoworld. If you have, even though you may have updated your personal profile with your new email address, you need to inform Van personally of your new email
