I want the promised translucent aluminium - maybe a return to the electronic lids seen on the BC8500 - in other words only the relevant buttons showing for each source, two way remote control and some way of having a screen that is not a screen - my mind is thinking some type of projection. And no wires.

Completely agree. I have no problem with the David Lewis designs but I feel the time has come for a fresh view and someone interested in the digital age. I don't want to look back - I can buy old B&O for that.

If the 4002 has the CD4 decoder fitted, it should have an output at line level. If you take the top plates off, the CD4 decoder and RIAA is under the keypad. I have a picture somewhere - I'll see if I can find it tonight. You do neever a quad receiver to get this to work - a 3400 or 6000.

I think the 1400 is an FM only version of the 1500. I don't think it was sold in the UK.

Delighted that you are so positive - where are you going as I thought the Salisbury shop had closed? I agree that the BV8-40 does seem to be good value - you seem to have got a bargain there! Have you discovered Spotify yet? Streams any music you like to your computer and on to your system.

Cannot disagree with that - the 901 is very reliable - probably why there are so many around. The 1500 sounds better when working though - no huge capacitors around the outputs as it is directly coupled. I would however still suggest that one of the Hi-Fi range is the way to go - a Beomaster 3000-2 is very hard to beat. Better made as well.
