There's a belt which drives the eject mechanism under the bottom plate, this may well have perished - I had this problem and that was the cause. If memory serves me it is the only one in there so you canoot miss where it should go. Chris.

Yep, coconut oil is recommended by B&O for Penta panels & great for keeping the original lustre. Sounds good if labour intensive. This has been tried on the mirror panels as fitted to the BC9500 & other products from the same era.
