Correct! And what's more it needs to be a fully wired/ Mk2 powerlink cable otherwise the passive will not switch on. As has been stated before.....powerlink is ONE way only.

Hi Derek, I've just found a BG5500 and powered it up. This should work same as TX2. There is no clicking sound when driving hard right in eith 33 or 45 mode. It just moves to the edge of the record and continues to spin with the arm stationery and no clicking noise! I've never had a BG8000 to compare speed of arm movement with. Hope this helps

This is an interesting question and seems to have been passed over by the great and the good on BeoWorld. Just how do you return a passive to flat tone response? ??????? Does it reset to flat every time you power on and remember your settings when on standby? I don't have a system to try so anybody????

Hello Derek, I didn't mean to ignore your previous posting but I currently don't have a record deck to enable me to try and reproduce your system. I am sure that someone will be along soon with an answer.

My personal recommendation is flat but I'm sure that there are others who would not agree. Suggest you wedge your 9500 up at an angle with some books and see how you get on!
