  • Re: BeoLink 5000 compatible with current B&O??

I wasn't that keen on the BeoLink 5000! I had one for a week to try out, and switched straight back to my BeoLink 1000 after a few hours of use. Too fragile IMO, and the build quality is nothing that impressive in comparison to the BL1000 or Beo4, both of which are built like tanks! Also found the time it took for commands to be processed kind of irritating

  • Re: CX100 center speaker or speakers

Yes, I would say so. I'd place one on top of the other to avoid comb filtering when listening off axis.

It's a very compact box, think something like a large box of chocolates (mmm) or a small shoe box.

Yes, you tell it which IR port it's connected to, and what kind of device it is, and it does all the magic for you...

BeoPort is a box sold by B&O which acts as a bridge between B&O and your computer. Connecting an IR Eye to it allows it to interpret the commands from your Beo4 remote, and the software from Anders called 'BM-Link' now supports the ability to control Front Row through the device. Never tried it myself, but the response seems very positive! Check the

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

For stupid bass, the ONLY test track there is has got to be LFO by LFO. For well controlled and detailed bass, Fleetwood Mac At the moment, track 14 off The Campfire Headphase by Boards of Canada. Still in bed at noon! God I love the 'summer' holidays.

  • Re: Beosystem 3 and DTS

Beonut: And if you either connect a Playstation 3 or a Blu-ray player by hdmi to the BS3 and play a blu-ray movie you will get Uncompressed PCM 5.1 sound which is even better (much much better) than the DTS you get from your DVD . Regards peter Yes, it's pretty jaw droppingly good! You'll also be all set for all the future formats, such as 7.1 surround

  • Re: Beolab 8000 IEC-Power?

Definitely not! BeoLab 4000s were still fantastic speakers right before they were upgraded, and so are BeoLab 8000s (if they are upgraded or not). You'll love them as they are

  • Re: CX100 center speaker or speakers

I believe others (such as Steve) have run CX100s as a centre channel, it should work fine! As long as you place two as a centre channel, I think you'll get away with it. They play loud enough just as stereo speakers, and seeing as centre channels tend to have to cope more with high peak volumes rather than constant output, I think you'll be fine.
