  • Re: Forum time incorrect?

OK, that makes sense and it wasn't a real problem anyway - at least we know that the Wednesday© thread starts in 22 minutes!

  • Re: And the numpty of the week award goes to........Help with my Pentalab required

Don't despair, Iain The service manual is on site and it shows the connections (look at file "Service manual 6621-6625" under Beolab Penta, which doesn't contain much else to clutter). Unfortunately, the colours don't seem to quite agree with what you have at hand. The big bunch of orange wires apparently all belong to the midranges

  • Re: Hard drive always running ?

Excessive heat will shorten the hard drive life, but otherwise it is quite a normal condition for them to run warm - I recall a recent study by Google (they obviously know quite of bit about running thousands and thousands of hard drives continuously), and the end result was that it was actually better for reliability to run them a little warm than

  • Re: Whats Playing Now thread - pre-moderated

JS Bach: Pastorale in F (BWV 950) - dunno the performer nor where the instrument is (caught this on an internet radio station), but I never realized the Pentas would go this low, either

  • Re: Identification help?

I believe that is actually the very limited edition Beogram 1666, built for searching subliminal messages from black metal recordings.

  • Forum time incorrect?

Since the DST ended, the forum has displayed every time stamp one hour ahead for me. Yes, I have my personal time zone set correctly (currently GMT+2:00 for Finland) in the profile, and tried logoff-login

  • Re: AV on my beovision mx3500

There are different versions of the Beolink 1000, and there are differences on which buttons exist. But there is usually always a way to get any function - in this case, you apparently have one of the older models, and "MENU" is selected with SHIFT-TEXT (first press shift, then text). PLAY still selects, << and >> usually walk

  • Re: BM1200: adjusting idle current

There isn't any adjustment for offset - or actually not much of a concept of offset. Like most amps of this vintage, BM1200 is AC coupled (the speaker outputs go through the large 3000 uF caps) and the output stages run off a single sided supply. So at idle state, the outputs float at some fixed value between ground and supply, which is determined

  • Re: buzzing, beogram 3404 after prolonged use

Probably an earthing issue. What amp do you have the Beogram connected to, does it have a DIN connection or are you using some kind of an adapter in between?

  • Re: Beosystem 7000

[quote user="burantek"] At any rate, the BL7000 that was acting up is on my bench. As of now, and I found this very interesting... the BL is utterly dead, but lights up in vicinity of a 2-way system. Remarkably, the 2-way (least likely to work) actually seems to be working! EVERYTHING else: Kapoohey! I have parts on order and will let you
