The tamper arived today, and already there is a definite improvement, though I know it will take me a while to get it right. The Europiccola is certainly tempting though... it appeals to the geek in me

I'm in the midst of rebuilding a very tidy 7700 with the 2-way master contol panel remote... definitely my fave of all this style of Beocenter. It, along with a not so nice but very worth saving one will be available. The 3rd (and best) I'm keeping I don't suppose anyone's got a stand/cabinet/whatever it's called available?

I've just started getting into 'real' coffee, and bought myself one of these: Getting the hang of it slowly, though the built-in tamper is rubbish, so have a proper one on the way. The problem is that whilst learning about making a decent espesso, you end up with a lot of 'rejects', albeit drinkable ones. Then you end up wide awake

Yes, the wires are in a 'non-standard' order. Your local B&O dealer can get you one, and they're only about a fiver.. I had the same problem with aBeotalk 1200 I bought without any leads. As soon as I used the proper lead it was fine. Hope this helps.

It should be possible with a CdS cell and a couple of other bits... maybe the places are already on the board? If not, it shouldn't be too hard - I've done a few similar things in the past. Make it neat and reversible, for originality's sake

Hi Dom. Firstly, congratulations on having a lovely Beocenter - they really are a nice piece of kit. Assuming the transit screws are not still in the shipping position, (if it plays ok with the lid open that's a fair clue) and the stylus is not knackered (fingers crossed) it's most likely to be that the counterweight is incorrectly set.
