Why not try heating the different parts of the board with a heat gun or hair drier to see if it fails quicker.

I have done this job once ... I would not necessarily encourage it ... lots of chance of things to go wrong ... but if you decide to go ahead, I can give some pointers. Neil

The MX4500 never had the software to support the motorised stand ... however, if you source a broken MX5000 ... you could transfer this. Again, if you are not competent with dealing with TVs, ask someone who is ... TVs have been known to kill. Neil

Its possible that it is set to PAL I ... not B/G which will be required in Italy ... the result is perfect picture and no sound. Have you tried with a SCART source? Neil

The LX is quite a beautiful beast ... I was watching my father's last night ... the piano black with polished aluminium trim ... looks contemporary even now, 20 years on. If you are "STILL" waiting for LCD and PLASMA to catch up, you wont go far wrong with this!
