in trip's defence ( it IS xmas after all ) i've used loewe gear in the past and NO WAY is it in the same league as bno build quality , picture quality and design are a big step backwards plus their speaker range is laughable customer service is pretty awful too if i couldn't afford / justify a bno , i'd go pioneer / sony before loewe

afaik dd is a compressed format dolby tru hd and dts master hd etc are utterly uncompromised in the audio dept ( as long as yer ears are up to it :) )

the bs9000 is very beautiful but with wireless access to your lossless recordings easily available it's a bit outdated imo 6 cd's when you can have 666 at the merest touch of an ipod touch ?

i agree with 355f , hdmi is an utter nightmare i have an hdmi extender , half my hdmi things don't work with it and despite all my internet explorations , nobody does i was reading over at avforums how a chap had bough a brand new sony x series , a sony amp and a ps3 and they for god knows what reason wouldn't work together maybe scart / phono

i'm not interested in freebies or offers or even cut prices i am however interested in buying something that should be at the very least if not cutting edge somewhere approaching relevancy the truth is is that bno's video products are very out of date and over priced for what you get no way is a bv9 worth over 5+ x a prioneer kuro in the uk
