Ok, let's try... 1) I think that powerlink was introudeced in Penta Mk II or later, Mk I doesn't have one and you can't use that (or you have to adapt it to fit line in on Penta but I don't think that makes much sense). 2) 2-pin cable is just the sound, for the display (data) you need the 4-pin cable 3) Don't know about that, I think

That's looks almost the same as my BC5500. I did mine by ear and I am happy with it, on both sides of the tape. I would like to get the auto search working; after that I could sell this deck (I like it but I already have three other B&O cassette decks! And I don't have any other part of the 5500 system than this!).

Better check the lubrication, first. I have a BC5500 (which seems to be pretty much the same deck, isn't it?) to which I replaced the whole playback-head (from another mech, original head was open circuit on one channel) and adjusted the azimuth settings for both sides. I, too, bought a BS2 some months ago. Outdated, perhaps, but stylish! Unfortunately it doesn't work very well with Macs, especially with the new Intel-based ones, am afraid. I had a lot of troubles with transfering music from my Mac to the BS2; iTunes crashed every time I tried to rename a playlist! Finally I formatted it and created the playlists

Thanks for the photos, Martin. I would be most glad if any one of you would find a decoder for me!

Be careful when you open the BC; it's not the easiest thing! Attached is a photo of the insides. (The front has a hinge and the top opens like this when some screws are removed; instructions are on the bottom of the BC). On the top-left corner, where the blue wires go, is the cd-covers driver motor. There is a small (almost visible, from the bottom
