• Re: Transporting P45s by car

Handle them carefully. Carry by hand, not on a trolley or similar and only one at a time. Don't bang them against anything as that is exactly what causes the woofers to lock. When you get them home, take out the woofers and glue the magnets. The Beovox P45 is one of my favourite speakers. So elegant, timeless and when wallmounted at correct height

OK, set the tracking force to 1.5g If it won't lower, something in the sequence of the mech. is wrong. You may have to lift off the platter and take a look underneath. Look for stray objects as well as bent or broken things. Martin

Is it connected to the Phono socket of the Beomaster ? Forgive me for asking, but it's very easy to pick the wrong socket. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! First clean the laser lens. Still no luck - replace capacitors on the servo board, a kit exists for this (soldering and basic electronic skills needed). Still no luck - replace the laser. Martin

Which cartridge do you use ? Is the needle touching and tracking the grooves ? Which amplifier do you use ? Have you set correct tracking force ? Have you undone the transport safety screws ? Martin

  • Re: Your latest purchase?

I know my B&O buys usually go in a different direction than most other Beoworld'ers but I was extremely lucky to add this rare bird to my collection a couple of days ago. Needs a cleaning but is otherwise mint and even still has the protective cover on the front panel, actually that's the dirtiest part. Beocord Stereomaster 2 - 610 portable

  • Re: Turntable clocks

Beotime wallclocks do come up for sale from time to time but there's not a lot around and owners tend to hold on to them. The one in the auction seems to be a fairly quick homemade piece as are the others from this seller, quite far from looking original, even if they did come in different versions: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/33340.aspx
Should I be worried about the surrounds from hifi?
Good and bad; Bad: The last couple of times, I sat with surrounds from them, they didn't fit. I was sold no less than three different surrounds that were all guaranteed to fit the same driver but none of them did. Some were far out (22mm off diameter on a 10
